{"id":437,"date":"2025-04-04T13:13:22","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T13:13:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/index.php\/docs\/how-to-change-an-events-settings\/"},"modified":"2026-03-24T08:45:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T08:45:06","password":"","slug":"how-to-change-an-events-settings","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/index.php\/docs\/how-to-change-an-events-settings\/","title":{"rendered":"How to change an Events Settings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Under <strong>Design<\/strong>, select the <strong>General Settings<\/strong> then <strong>Event Settings<\/strong> tab and within that page, you may select the <strong>Update Details<\/strong> button that would allow you to review and update the following information:<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Event name:\u00a0<\/strong>name of your event<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Start date:\u00a0<\/strong>start date of your event<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; End date:\u00a0<\/strong>end date of your event<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Time zone<\/strong>: If your event is taking place in a specific region, we suggest setting the time zone to within that region.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Date and Agenda time format:<\/strong> whether is 12 or 24 hour time format which would reflect on your sessions and meeting schedules.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Live Date: <\/strong>entering the live date will activate the countdown clock on the event platform<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Event type: <\/strong>Essential, Professional and Enterprise<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Light or dark mode: <\/strong>This will change the platform background to either white or black<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Welcome banner text: <\/strong>this text will be displayed over your default banner on the homepage<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Social Media URLs:\u00a0<\/strong>You may choose to enter your event&#8217;s socials such as Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Screenshot202025-04-0320at209-38-45E280AFPM-png.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #fff7ed;border-left: 4px solid #f97316;padding: 12px 16px;margin: 16px 0;border-radius: 4px\"><strong>Caution:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Changing the time zone on General Settings mid-event will affect your existing meetings, their locations, and your agenda. You would need to re-create meetings and agenda. A warning message will also appear when changing the time zone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"background: #eef4ff;border-left: 4px solid #3b82f6;padding: 12px 16px;margin: 16px 0;border-radius: 4px\"><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Remember:<\/strong> Attendees can choose their own time zone in the platform to view event timings locally. They do this by selecting the small clock icon, located to the right of the top menu bar.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Changing the Event Status: <\/strong>Draft or Live<\/p>\n<p>By default, your event is set up and will remain in <strong>draft mode<\/strong>\u00a0until you push it to\u00a0<strong>live<\/strong>. While in draft mode, only admin users have the ability to view and access an event page.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #eef4ff;border-left: 4px solid #3b82f6;padding: 12px 16px;margin: 16px 0;border-radius: 4px\"><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;re able to change the status of your event to\u00a0<strong>live mode<\/strong>\u00a0up to one week before the start date of your event.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Once your event has been pushed to live, attendees who are registered are able view info on the event page and pre-book sessions, meetings etc.<\/p>\n<p>Admins can still switch between <strong>draft\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>live<\/strong> status at any point before or during the event. It is important to note that if the event status is toggled from <strong>live to draft, <\/strong>attendees will not be able to access the event until it is changed to <strong>live <\/strong>again<strong>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, attendees can still register for your event even if it is in draft mode, meaning you can work on making your event beautiful right up until the last moment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #f0fdf4;border-left: 4px solid #22c55e;padding: 12px 16px;margin: 16px 0;border-radius: 4px\"><strong>Tip:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Attendees can only access LIVE event platform. Make sure to keep your event in draft mode until you are ready for your attendees to access the event.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Changing the Event mode:<\/strong> In-person or Virtual<\/p>\n<p>Organizers can toggle between In-person or virtual event which would enable relevant features.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #eef4ff;border-left: 4px solid #3b82f6;padding: 12px 16px;margin: 16px 0;border-radius: 4px\"><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If the event mode is set to <strong>In-person<\/strong>, the hybrid features will become visible under <strong>Onsite<\/strong> menu.
