{"id":416,"date":"2024-04-03T10:24:46","date_gmt":"2024-04-03T10:24:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/index.php\/docs\/meeting-and-chat-notifications\/"},"modified":"2024-04-03T10:24:46","modified_gmt":"2024-04-03T10:24:46","password":"","slug":"meeting-and-chat-notifications","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/index.php\/docs\/meeting-and-chat-notifications\/","title":{"rendered":"Meeting and chat notifications"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"font-size: 1.05em;margin-top: 10px;margin-bottom: 4px\">When and where will attendees receive notifications for meetings and chat?<\/h3>\n<p>Attendees will generally receive meeting and chat notifications in two places:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The notification center\u00a0 (located in the upper right hand side of the top navigation bar)<\/li>\n<li>Their registered email address<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Attendees will receive notifications for all of the following actions:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An attendee has requested a meeting or call with them<\/li>\n<li>An attendee has canceled or changed the date\/time a previously scheduled meeting<\/li>\n<li>An attendee has accepted, proposed a new time, or declined their meeting invitation<\/li>\n<li>The host has started the meeting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Chat<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An attendee has sent them a new personal chat message<\/li>\n<li>An attendee has received the first reply on the chat\u00a0\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"background: #eef4ff;border-left: 4px solid #3b82f6;padding: 12px 16px;margin: 16px 0;border-radius: 4px\"><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To ensure that an urgent <strong>call<\/strong> request isn&#8217;t missed, a recipient can expect to receive both an email and a popup notification. You can expect one to appear above the highlight banner and another as a call out notification, found within the bottom right hand corner of the screen.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 style=\"font-size: 1.05em;margin-top: 10px;margin-bottom: 4px\">Can an admin turn off email notifications for chats and meetings for all attendees?<\/h3>\n<p>Currently you can only turn off email notifications for chat messages. As an event organizer you can do this by Navigating to the\u00a0<strong>chat\u00a0<\/strong>tab underneath\u00a0<strong>step 2<\/strong> in the event console. There is a toggle for email notification located at the top of the page, use this to enable or disable email notifications for chats.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-size: 1.05em;margin-top: 10px;margin-bottom: 4px\">Can attendees manage their own notification preferences?<\/h3>\n<p>Absolutely!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Attendees can manage these preferences by selecting their name in the upper right corner of the event platform and selecting\u00a0<strong>profile.\u00a0<\/strong>Next they will select\u00a0<strong>update profile<\/strong> and scroll to the bottom of the page where they will see checkboxes next to the types of notifications they would like to receive.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #eef4ff;border-left: 4px solid #3b82f6;padding: 12px 16px;margin: 16px 0;border-radius: 4px\"><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Notifications settings apply both in the console and the mobile app!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When and where will attendees receive notifications for meetings and chat?
