Whether it&#8217;s during a live session, across the event as a whole, or within specific sponsor zones, polls help you interact with your audience in real time.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #eef4ff;border-left: 4px solid #3b82f6;padding: 12px 16px;margin: 16px 0;border-radius: 4px\"><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Note: You can enable or disable the Polls page by navigating to General Settings &gt; Pages &gt; Access &gt; Polls.<\/p>\n<p>To rename the page, go to General Settings &gt; Pages &gt; Web\/Mobile App &gt; Polls and click the pencil icon under the Custom Label column.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong><br \/>Table of Contents<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#when-how-to-use-polls\" rel=\"noopener\">When to Use Them and How to Set Them Up<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#types-of-polls\" rel=\"noopener\">Types of Polls<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#important-settings\" rel=\"noopener\">Important Settings to Update<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#polls-vod\" rel=\"noopener\">Polls for VOD sessions<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a id=\"when-how-to-use-polls\"><\/a><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Nunito, sans-serif;font-size: 1.375rem;font-weight: bold;color: var(--trellis-color-text-core-default,#33475b)\"><br \/>When to Use Them and How to Set Them Up<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-size: 1em;margin-top: 8px;margin-bottom: 4px\"><strong>Event-wide polls:<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>These polls appear in the dedicated <strong>Polls<\/strong> section of your event website, where attendees can view and respond to them.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the <strong>Content<\/strong> tab and click <strong>Polls<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Create<\/strong> and work through the setup options available, i.e, type of poll, title, and poll question.<\/li>\n<li>Leave the Sponsor and Session blank, and the question will appear on the dedicated <strong>polls<\/strong> page.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Once you have worked through the other <a href=\"#important-settings\" rel=\"noopener\">setup options<\/a>, hit <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4 style=\"font-size: 1em;margin-top: 8px;margin-bottom: 4px\"><strong>Session-specific polls:<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>These polls are tied to specific sessions, making them useful for gathering real-time feedback, running live questions, and increasing audience engagement during the session. There are two ways to create this type of poll.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/><\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Via Session&#8217;s Settings Page:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the <strong>Content<\/strong> tab and click <strong>Sessions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select your desired session and scroll to the bottom.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Polls<\/strong> tab. Here you can create, manage, and analyze your polls and any responses you receive from within a session.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Via the Polls Section:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the <strong>Content<\/strong> tab and click <strong>Polls<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Create<\/strong> and work through the setup options available, i.e, type of poll, title, and poll question.<\/li>\n<li>Upon reaching the <strong>Session<\/strong>, choose the specific session from the dropdown that the poll should appear in.<\/li>\n<li>Once you have worked through the other <a href=\"#important-settings\" rel=\"noopener\">setup options<\/a>, hit <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div style=\"background: #f0fdf4;border-left: 4px solid #22c55e;padding: 12px 16px;margin: 16px 0;border-radius: 4px\"><strong>Tip:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019d like a session poll to also appear on the dedicated Polls page, click &#8220;Update&#8221; and find the \u201cDisplay in Polls Page\u201d option, and set it to \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Session hosts and event admins can create polls on the fly directly from the session front end. Above the session&#8217;s date and time, you\u2019ll find the <strong>Manage Polls<\/strong> button. These polls allow sponsors to engage visitors, gather feedback, and capture insights directly from attendees who visit their booth or page.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Via Sponsor&#8217;s Settings Page:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the <strong>Sponsors<\/strong> tab and select your desired sponsor, and scroll to the bottom.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Polls<\/strong> tab. This format provides attendees with a set list of answer options to choose from, making it easy to analyze trends and understand how the majority of attendees felt about specific aspects of your event. An example of a multiple-choice question would be:\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png-Jun-24-2025-10-20-56-8412-AM.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/li>\n<li><strong>Grouped Multiple Choice: <\/strong>This type of question is best used when you want to ask multiple questions that all have the same answer options.\u00a0\n<p>For example, you could be curious to know how your attendees rated all of the event sessions. <br \/>&#8211; You have a rating system of &#8220;Excellent&#8221;, &#8220;Good&#8221;, &#8220;Neutral&#8221;, or &#8220;Poor&#8221; (these are your <strong>answer options<\/strong>).\u00a0<br \/>&#8211; Your group title could be: &#8220;How would you rate the following Sessions?&#8221; <br \/>&#8211; Your questions would be the names of each session in question: &#8220;Session A&#8221;, &#8221; Session B&#8221;, and &#8221; Session C&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Below is an example of how the above question would appear for your attendees to answer:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Multiple answer: <\/strong>This type of poll is best used if you like the multiple choice format, but your questions require your participants to select multiple options or answers.\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Star Rating:<\/strong> This type of poll allows attendees to rate an item using a visual 1 to 5-star scale. It\u2019s a quick and intuitive way to collect feedback on sessions, speakers, or the overall experience.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a id=\"important-settings\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-size: 1.05em;margin-top: 10px;margin-bottom: 4px\">Important Settings to Update<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Status:<\/strong>\u00a0make sure to select <strong>Active<\/strong> so the poll becomes live and visible on the front end.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Editable Answer:<\/strong> allows attendees to update their response after submitting it.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Required:<\/strong> makes it mandatory for attendees to answer the poll.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Target attendees:<\/strong> lets you control who can see the poll. This is ideal if you want to show it to a specific attendee group only.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Preview Background Type:<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;color: var(--trellis-color-text-core-default,#33475b);font-weight: var(--trellis-typography-body-100-font-weight,300)\"> allows you to choose a background for the poll, either a solid color or an image.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">If you have selected Multiple Choice \/ Multiple Answer<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Options: <\/strong>this is where you input the answer choices for your question. Be sure to enter one option per line.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Other option:<\/strong> allows attendees to submit an answer not listed. When this is selected, an <strong>Other Option Label<\/strong> field will appear so you can add custom text (e.g., &#8220;Other, please specify&#8221;).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Correct Answer:\u00a0<\/strong>this is optional, but if the poll is quiz-style, you can specify the correct answer here.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">If you have selected Group Multiple Choice<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Group Title:<\/strong>\u00a0the main heading for your grouped poll.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Group Subtitle<\/strong>: an optional subheading to provide additional context.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Options:<\/strong> this is where you input the answer choices for your question. Be sure to enter one option per line.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Sponsor-Specific Poll Settings<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Open In:<\/strong> lets you choose where the poll appears, either inside the session\u2019s interactive panel or as a pop-up.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Display Result: <\/strong>gives you the option to show poll results in the web app once attendees have answered.<\/li>\n<li>If you want the poll to become visible at a certain point within a session, you can schedule the start &amp; end time accordingly.\u00a0\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a id=\"polls-vod\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-size: 1.05em;margin-top: 10px;margin-bottom: 4px\">Polls for VOD sessions\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>You are also able to create polls scheduled to appear at the end of VOD sessions regardless of when an attendee watches the VOD sessions.
