Tapping it will display their unique QR code, along with a scan button just below.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png-Jul-11-2025-01-30-58-4150-PM.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png-Jul-11-2025-01-32-13-1148-PM.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Use for networking &#8211; <\/strong>It works so that when an attendee scans a colleague&#8217;s QR code, their profile will appear within the mobile app, which enables networking opportunities!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Event Check-in: as an attendee<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong> <\/strong>When attendees scan the event QR code at the registration or the check-in kiosk, their status will switch to &#8216;Checked in&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #f0fdf4;border-left: 4px solid #22c55e;padding: 12px 16px;margin: 16px 0;border-radius: 4px\"><strong>Tip:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tip: To find your event QR code, go to the <strong>Onsite<\/strong> tab &gt; <strong>On-site Registration<\/strong>\u00a0&gt; <strong>View QR Code<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png-Jul-11-2025-01-38-43-1150-PM.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To see if attendees have checked in, go to the <strong>Onsite<\/strong> tab &gt; <strong>On-site Registration<\/strong>. You\u2019ll see a list of your \u2018In-person\u2019 attendees, and those who have checked in will have the date and time displayed under the Check-in column.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png-Jul-11-2025-01-42-32-3828-PM.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Event Check in: as the organizer- <\/strong>Alternatively, as the event organizer, you are able to check in an attendee by scanning their QR code and choosing &#8216;Event check-in&#8217;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png-Aug-23-2022-06-08-46-87-AM.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A message &#8220;Attendee has already checked in&#8221; will pop up, signifying that you have successfully checked in the attendee.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #f0fdf4;border-left: 4px solid #22c55e;padding: 12px 16px;margin: 16px 0;border-radius: 4px\"><strong>Tip:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tip: You can opt to add a <strong>welcome email<\/strong> when the user checks in to the event or when they get checked in by enabling this feature under the <strong>Design<\/strong> tab &gt; <strong>General Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Features &amp; Networking<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Attend sessions: as an attendee &#8211;<\/strong> Scanning a session QR checks in the attendee for that session. If there are any virtual materials or details in the session page, the attendee can follow along here.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"background: #eef4ff;border-left: 4px solid #3b82f6;padding: 12px 16px;margin: 16px 0;border-radius: 4px\"><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Note: For an attendee to be marked &#8220;checked in&#8221; to the session, they must have scanned the QR code 5 minutes prior to 1 hr after the session time. If outside these bounds, they are merely &#8220;added&#8221; to the session.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>When an attendee scans the QR code, it will add them to the session&#8217;s attendee list, add the session to their calendar &amp; open the session in their mobile app!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png-Jul-07-2022-07-24-47-51-AM.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #f0fdf4;border-left: 4px solid #22c55e;padding: 12px 16px;margin: 16px 0;border-radius: 4px\"><strong>Tip:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tip: Upon going into specific sessions, you&#8217;ll find within the session description that each session has a unique QR code.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Check-in sessions: as the organizer &#8211; <\/strong>Alternatively, as the organizer, you are able to &#8216;check in&#8217; attendees to your event sessions using the mobile event app. Simply scan the attendee&#8217;s QR code, then choose &#8216;Session check-in&#8217;.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png-Aug-23-2022-06-53-09-73-AM.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This will then lead you to the list of sessions you wish to check in your attendee for. You are also able to see the recent sessions, if any, an attendee has already checked-in to under &#8216;Recent&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png-Aug-23-2022-07-05-02-15-AM.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select the session, and a message &#8216;Attendee is already added in the session&#8217; will pop up, signifying you have successfully added the attendee to that specific session.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png-Aug-23-2022-06-55-49-51-AM.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Check-in Meetings: as an attendee &#8211; <\/strong>Attendees are able to check in their meetings based on the Location QR. They simply scan the Location QR code, and the system checks if they have meetings in that specific location. The person they are meeting with also gets a notification that the attendee has already checked in to their set meeting.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check-in Meetings: as an organizer &#8211; <\/strong>organizers can &#8216;check in&#8217; attendees to your event meetings using the mobile event app. Simply scan the attendee&#8217;s QR code, then choose which meeting they should be checked into.<\/li>\n<li><strong>View the event sponsors &#8211; <\/strong>Each sponsor gets their own QR code too!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You&#8217;ll find the sponsors unique QR code within each sponsor&#8217;s profile. When an attendee scans the QR code it will take them to the sponsor booth within the app.\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png-Jul-07-2022-07-25-34-58-AM.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>QR code within the campaign tool<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When your event mode is set to &#8216;In-person&#8217;, you&#8217;ll find within the Campaign tool that there is the option to add a QR code as a placeholder. Simply type {attendeeQR}. This enables event organizers to send over the attendee&#8217;s QR code as part of their emails!\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png-Jul-07-2022-07-27-54-13-AM.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>QR Code for Tickets <\/strong><br \/>All ticket links also have their own unique QR code that will redirect users to the ticket page URL when scanned using a normal phone camera.\u00a0\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.knowledge-base.canapii.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-png-Jul-26-2022-01-40-41-42-PM.png\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>QR code for Sponsor Admins<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 3 []\">When a sponsor admin is logged in on the app and uses the QR code scanner to scan an attendee&#8217;s QR, it will show two options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>View Profile<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>Add as a lead<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">Adding as a lead will have the following options: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">An add notes field that allows sponsors to add notes before adding the attendee<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Add to lead data in the console with reference &#8220;Added as a lead by [sponsor admin name]&#8221; and include a new notes tab<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How does QR code scanning work?
